Who is Joe?

Joe Mull works with organizations that need their leaders to become better bosses. Prior to launching his own firm, Joe was head of Learning & Development for Physician Services at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center where he managed training for one of the largest physician groups in the United States – more than 9,000 employees at over 500 locations.

Specializing in leadership development, employee engagement, and “soft skills” training, Joe has spent thousands of hours shaping managers into strong leaders with his compelling content and dynamic delivery. He speaks frequently at conferences and retreats, and has delivered training in every imaginable setting including waiting rooms, hallways, PAC-U stalls, and boardrooms. In demand as a speaker and trainer, Joe has attracted audiences from all over the U.S., large and small.

A published author, Joe’s 2014 book, Cure for the Common Leader: What Physicians & Managers Must Do to Engage & Inspire Healthcare Teams, has been called “one of the most practical healthcare leadership books you’ll ever read.” His 2018 book No More Team Drama: Ending the Gossip, Cliques, & Other Crap that Damage Workplace Teams is a must read for leaders who want to improve morale, engagement, and retention in the workplace.

Joe is host of the instructional YouTube series Your Practice Ain’t Perfect. He has taught leadership courses at Ohio University and the University of Pittsburgh and is a Certified MBTI practitioner.

Should you choose to partner with Joe, you’ll get the 3 things meeting planners want most: compelling content, dynamic delivery, and an approachable, collaborative, on-the-details speaking professional. His goal as a speaker is also your goal as an event planner: helping people show up differently afterwards, so they can get better results.

Joe holds a Master’s degree from Ohio University, and is a Professional Member of the National Speakers Association. He resides in the suburbs of Pittsburgh, PA with his family.
